Cannot see the floor at all But she's outside alone with no sunscreen Someone’s gotta get her Cannot see the floor at all But overall the counterpoint is A hole without a center Of gravity, open up my chest alone but Dream of something better Than gravity, calories can burn themselves i guess Bound to be close enough i guess In the backseat of a storm, of a storm, of a story you once told me of a storm, of a storm Cannot see the floor at all But she’s at home alone with no sunscreen Someone’s gotta get her Suffer caffeine withdrawal and kill some fucking time but can’t you Love without a center Of gravity, humor me but try it sometime Time for something better Forget the common courtesy to call, don't ya?

Rotunda 03:33
Under bodies inertia’s got me Wonder, you watch me Botch this slaughter Rotunda hardly making your rounds Summed up a bad week by jumping overboard beside me Was I really worth your time? I brought a blondie Selections vary Met a nice zombie One shake and then it’s over Rotunda you got me I can’t say I’m sorry My eyes will talk for me Forget it’s over You came from somewhere and I refuse to let it go Was I really worth your time? I can’t help you get it right…

I’m not stoned, this is normal My eyes and ears and mouth and nose are connected And if they're ever corrected I’ll never need an object of blind affection I flow more than normal Dissociated private eyes don’t mind me for now (For now…) I’ll spend Sundays at all Wrong houses I’ll spend money on The wrong pounds of Nashville’s treating you well I can’t deny that I’ve been willing it off I’ll spend Sundays at all Wrong houses I’ll spin out of control For this town, I haven’t been treating you well I can’t help that I’ve been willing it off

Cycles 04:22
The light It changes I’m not surprised Children run away I’m not surprised Children run away I’m not stupid, it doesn’t absolve me We are one We are forever (How could you?)

about

In the summer of 2019 Another Hospital released their debut LP into the world. Oh Lord, Oh Brother, Oh Baby was the beginning of a new era, as the band, previously a solo project for songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Eric Kohlenstein, shifted into a five piece line-up with Dylan Gray and Julia McIntyre filling out the layered guitar sound and the rhythm section of Evan Ballew (bass) and Jamie Conroy (drums). The band had plans to begin recording their next release immediately after returning from a short East Coast tour.

Those plans never materialized, and instead the band found themselves in a summer-long rut, as day jobs and creative burnout began to eat away at the months. From this Groundhog day-esque repetition came the spark for the songs that would become the Proof of Context EP.

The feeling of being caught in a loop, both interpersonally and chronologically, is the central theme of Proof of Context, manifesting in the opening chord of “Try it Sometime”, the angular and insistent riffs of “This is Normal” and the cascading drum loops on the psychedelic outro, “Cycles”.

Proof of Context will be released digitally and on cassette May 28th, 2021 on the band’s self-run label; Nap Time Records.
